'Blocking' cards sent by post is a key security measure.

If you wish, your cards and PIN can be sent to you by post. Although the card and PIN code are sent separately, there is a risk involved if one of the envelopes is lost or stolen. This is why cards sent by post are not activated. To activate your card, just get in touch with your adviser or send a fax to the number below indicating that you wish to activate your cards. Your card will be ready for use within five minutes.
