Banque de Luxembourg engages with young investors: Interview with Stéphanie Baldinucci
In a constantly changing financial landscape, young investors are often faced with complex challenges. To guide them along the way and provide them with the tools they need to succeed, Banque de Luxembourg is launching its first ‘Boost your investing skills’ Masterclass.
This programme is aimed at the Bank's younger customers who want to learn more about the intricacies of the financial markets and start building sustainable wealth. To find out more about this initiative, we spoke to Stéphanie Baldinucci, Luxembourg Market Coordinator at Banque de Luxembourg.
Q: Can you tell us what prompted the launch of the Masterclass?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
The decision to create our Masterclass is a logical extension of our work with families and our tradition of building relationships, not only with the current generation but with upcoming ones too. This initiative – which complements our other next-generation programmes such as the ‘Summer Academy’ and the ‘Family Business Junior Executive Program’ – responds to a growing need for younger people to enhance their knowledge and experience of financial issues, with a focus on building sustainable wealth.

Q: How does this Masterclass differ from other financial education programmes?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
Our Masterclass is unique because its approach is tailored to the specific needs of young investors. There is a choice of two courses, one for beginners and the other for those who already have some financial experience. Another key feature is that our workshops are interactive so participants can progress at their own pace, depending on their level of knowledge. It’s not only about theory. We combine it with personalised support and real immersion in the financial world. We aim to make learning user-friendly and relevant, with experts from Banque de Luxembourg explaining concepts in a clear and pragmatic way.
Q: Why did you choose to focus specifically on young investors?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
As wealth management becomes increasingly complex, financial education is essential for the rising generation to navigate their way with confidence. Young investors are often at a turning point in their financial lives. It's a time when they make important decisions that will affect their future. But understanding how to structure their wealth effectively can be a complicated matter. We know that taking a long-term view is essential for successful wealth management. By offering a comprehensive education programme, we give them the tools they need to build a solid financial future and help them to seize investment opportunities that come their way.
Q: What makes Banque de Luxembourg special in the way it supports young investors?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
As a caring and responsible bank, nurturing future generations is a natural part of our intensely human and personalised approach to wealth management. We believe that wealth management requires vision, values and responsibility towards future generations. We want to include younger generations in conversations as early as possible because by taking an active part in discussions about the management of the family's assets, young people can gradually assimilate the dynamics involved in preserving and enhancing its wealth. That’s why we believe our programmes for future generations are so important. Our Masterclass isn’t just about learning. It’s also an opportunity to exchange ideas and meet other young investors. It's a collective experience which helps everyone learn and develop.
Q: How do the participants benefit from the workshops?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
The workshops are designed to be both informative and interactive. For example, for beginners, we cover essential topics such as how private banks work and the basics of saving and investing. For those who already have some experience, we delve deeper into topics such as portfolio management, private equity and ESG investments. Participants leave with a better understanding of long-term financial considerations. One of the most valuable aspects of these workshops is the opportunity to discuss things with our experts in a friendly space, ask questions and get personalised advice.
Q: Banque de Luxembourg pays particular attention to the sustainable aspect of investment. How is this reflected in the Masterclass?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
Sustainable investment is central to our strategy. Today’s young investors are increasingly sensitive to environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. The Masterclass addresses these issues through specific workshops on responsible investment and our ‘business-like investing’ methodology. The idea is to integrate these principles into the management of wealth from the outset so that participants will be able to invest in an informed way in line with their values.
Q: What do you hope young investors will take away from this Masterclass?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
I want them to leave with a clear and confident vision of their financial future. Wealth management is not a question of luck. It’s a combination of strategy, knowledge and anticipation. Our Masterclass is designed to provide them with the right tools and confidence. We want them to feel capable of making decisions and understand how the financial markets work so they will be able to build sustainable wealth with a long-term perspective.
Q: Finally, what key message would you like to convey to our readers?
Stéphanie Baldinucci:
My message is simple: start thinking about your financial future early, keep learning and take control. With its unique expertise and an approach focusing on the individual, Banque de Luxembourg is there to support you every step of the way. We believe that financial education is the key to building a solid future, and our Masterclass is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to understand the world of finance and invest successfully.
