Banque de Luxembourg, which has partnered with LuxTrust to offer clients innovative authentication solutions, is the first Luxembourg bank to deploy LuxTrust solutions in Belgium. It will also be the first Luxembourg bank to accept itsme® digital identity for clients living in Belgium.
LuxTrust, the Luxembourg-based provider of digital identities and trust services, and itsme®, the Belgian mobile identity application, will make their digital identities interoperable in both countries. And soon, Banque de Luxembourg clients will be able to enjoy the benefits of this partnership.
Launch of a Belgian-Luxembourg digital ecosystem
Like LuxTrust in Luxembourg, the itsme® solution allows users living in Belgium to confirm and sign their transactions online with the highest level of confidence in a wide range of areas, including government services, healthcare, banking and insurance, communications, energy, human resources and temporary work.
Today the two companies are joining forces to offer a solution that is fully interoperable within the EU with the highest level of assurance.
The first phase has already been completed: customers of LuxTrust’s digital signature solution can now log in to their accounts and sign documents electronically using an itsme® identity.
The second phase of the operation will give customers of Luxembourg companies using the LuxTrust platforms the option of using itsme® to log in and confirm their transactions. Eventually they will be able to generate a LuxTrust digital signature.

The ultimate goal is for both the itsme® and the native LuxTrust solutions to be fully interoperable and functionally complementary.
