A new leadership chapter for Banque de Luxembourg in 2026
Banque de Luxembourg opens a new chapter in its history as Pierre Ahlborn announces his retirement, handing over the reins as head of the financial institution to Livia Moretti, effective on 15 March 2026. This is only the fourth change of leadership at Banque de Luxembourg in eight decades, a sign of the stability of the more than century-old banking institution.
Transition rooted in continuity
After a career spanning 38 years at Banque de Luxembourg, including 26 as Administrateur Délégué, Pierre Ahlborn has announced his retirement. The appointment of Livia Moretti to take over at the helm will become official following the approvals required by the regulatory authorities.
The transition between Pierre Ahlborn and Livia Moretti will take place gradually over the coming months, reflecting their shared priority – to sustainably serve the interests of our clients, partners, employees and stakeholders.
True to Banque de Luxembourg’s DNA
Livia Moretti’s has a solid background in management, leadership, banking and finance. In a career spanning 20 years, she has held a range of international roles in both European institutions and private banks based in Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France and Switzerland.
She arrives as Banque de Luxembourg continues its growth strategy, underpinned by a deep commitment to its core mission, social responsibility and its clients over the long term.
This new chapter in our history is an opportunity to reaffirm our fundamental values of responsibility, commitment, stability and local presence, which will continue to guide everything we do.
