COVID-19: showing solidarity as a responsible Bank

Every effort counts in a health crisis, and everyone in our community is called upon to take whatever action they can – however small – to support the fight against COVID-19. As a socially responsible Bank, Banque de Luxembourg’s Belgian Branch has joined the long list of companies and services that have answered this call.

As well as taking preventive measures to protect the well-being of our clients and employees, it is vital that we show our support for the people working for our health every day: the medical professionals and hospital staff who are on the front line of the battle against the virus. They are among the many people who continue to work in highly stressful circumstances, despite the risk to their own health.

As well as taking preventive measures to protect the well-being of our employees and visitors to our branch, we want to show our support for the people working for our health every day: the medial professionals and hospital staff who keep Luxembourg’s various health and care facilities operating 24/7. They are on the front line of the battle against the virus and are among the many people who continue to do their jobs in highly stressful circumstances, providing services that are essential for our daily lives.

Improving working conditions to ensure continuity

To help them manage the impact of the crisis and minimise the risk to their health as they work, our Bank is taking part in fund-raising activities to buy PPE for hospitals in the Brussels and Liège areas.

We have donated 10,000 masks to the Luxembourg Red Cross. We have also helped to fund the production of Tyvek protective clothing for staff at the Robert Schuman Hospital. This equipment will help these essential workers to do their jobs in safer conditions.

It’s our way of saying THANK YOU to all the medical and care personnel for their relentless commitment, day and night, to helping patients.

While awaiting the end of the pandemic, we can help them do their work by staying safe and staying at home.
