It's not always easy for the rising generation to find their place in the family business. And the current public health crisis may well create even more uncertainty for the careers of young family business managers.
Inevitably they will have a host of questions and concerns, so discussing ideas between peers and hearing personal accounts from other young or experienced entrepreneurs can help provide some of the answers. This is exactly what our Family Business Junior Executive Program, launched in 2012, offers.
The 2020 edition of the programme, which held its first session last October, brought together 14 sons and daughters of family entrepreneurs, aged between 25 and 35, from Luxembourg, Belgium and France.
For two and a half days, they were able to exchange ideas at workshops covering topics such as legitimacy, management style, governance of a family business, working in the family business and asserting oneself within the business.
Traditionally held at Domaine de Ronchinne near Namur (Belgium), the second session of this edition is expected to take place in the first half of 2021.
