Luxembourg 2035: shaping the future of the financial centre together

What will Luxembourg’s financial centre look like in ten years? And what role will the next generation of professionals play in shaping its evolution?

These questions were at the heart of the event we hosted last week together with the NxtGen community of Aztec Group: “Shaping Luxembourg 2035 – What Must We Preserve, What Must Change, and How Do We Contribute?”

The evening brought together young professionals from across the funds ecosystem — asset managers, Big4 firms, law firms, consultants and service providers — to exchange views on the strengths of Luxembourg’s financial centre, the challenges ahead and the transformations needed to remain competitive.

Following an inspiring welcome speech by Vincent Willem, Deputy Head of Asset Servicing, participants attended a keynote by Sara Huda, Managing Director at EQT Partners, who shared reflections from her international career and valuable advice for navigating a constantly evolving industry.

The panel discussion, moderated by Sofia Souici, offered complementary perspectives from across the ecosystem on the opportunities and challenges facing Luxembourg.

Key takeaways from the evening

  • Preserve what makes Luxembourg unique – a strong ecosystem, international openness and a collaborative spirit across the industry.
  • Keep reinventing ourselves – agility and innovation will remain essential as technology, regulation and markets evolve.
  • Make talent a driver of transformation – curiosity, adaptability and multidisciplinary profiles will be key.
  • Empower the NextGen – the next generation is not only the future of the financial centre, but already an active contributor to its transformation.

The evening concluded with a networking reception, providing a great opportunity to continue the conversation and strengthen connections across Luxembourg’s financial community.

We are proud to support initiatives that foster dialogue, collaboration and the development of the talent that will help shape the future of Luxembourg’s financial centre.
