Staying vigilant online

Banque de Luxembourg has always taken its role as a corporate citizen and responsible economic player very seriously. It owes its heritage to the communities that provide the framework for its development, and its tradition of sponsorship and involvement in charitable activities is a way of giving something back to them. The Bank is committed to the economic and social life of the countries in which it operates and actively supports a variety of forms of artistic expression.

MUDAM has 4,000 m2 of exhibition space

The Bank’s links with MUDAM Luxembourg – Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean go back to the museum's earliest days. Created in 2006 in memory of 25 years of Grand Duke Jean's reign, MUDAM was designed by the famous Chinese-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei. The museum’s vocation is to give a face to contemporary art in the Grand Duchy, improve understanding of the role of contemporary art, and contribute to the country's influence by attracting internationally renowned artists.

But even before the new museum opened its doors, Banque de Luxembourg was already actively supporting this major cultural organisation in 2004, by providing its former premises in Kirchberg as a base camp for the museum and enabling the museum’s prefiguration programme to be exhibited there. Today, MUDAM has some 4,000 m2 of exhibition space and a collection of more than 700 works by Luxembourg and international artists in all media.

Making art accessible to all

On 1 January this year, Banque de Luxembourg renewed its partnership with MUDAM until 2025. As a dynamic and inspirational player on the Luxembourg art scene, the museum offers an impressive variety of activities aimed at different audiences, fulfilling its primary mission of making contemporary art accessible to all. The Bank's support for this initiative strengthens the local impact of its commitment and is a meaningful expression of its corporate social responsibility. It is delighted to renew its support for artistic creation in Luxembourg.
