Let's consider a concrete example: your spouse has a credit card in their name, directly linked to your account. You want your spouse to be able to make their own purchases and validate them online. How to set this up.

My spouse have a LuxTrust identity

If your spouse already has the LuxTrust Mobile app, they can go straight to Step 3.

Step 1: Your spouse must download the LuxTrust Mobile app from their smartphone store or from the https://mobile.luxtrust.lu/download website.

My spouse does not have a LuxTrust identity

Step 1: Contact your adviser to arrange for your spouse to be issued with a LuxTrust certificate.

Step 2: Your spouse will receive a text message containing their LuxTrust User ID and password. Please keep this information safe. Your spouse must then download the LuxTrust Mobile app from their smartphone store or from the https://mobile.luxtrust.lu/download website and activate it using the one-time password sent to them by text message.

Step 3: Log in to your E-Banking area and follow the steps below:

In the menu bar, click on the ‘accounts’ tab, then on the card your spouse wants to use for online purchases.

In the menu on the left of your screen, click on ‘Link this card’, then on ‘Link the LuxTrust certificate to another person’.

The LuxTrust authentication screen appears. The actual user of the card (your spouse in this example) will be identified. Their LuxTrust identity will be used to validate payments.

  • The actual user of the card chooses the identification device: LuxTrust Scan or LuxTrust Mobile

  • Then enters their LuxTrust User ID and password

  • A validation request appears (via the LuxTrust Mobile app or LuxTrust Scan)

  • The actual card user validates the procedure, then in turn the account holder confirms the transaction

  • This completes the card link request which will be validated within a few minutes. You can exit the process by clicking the ‘Finish’ button.
    An information banner will confirm that the link has been successful.
